De acuerdo a la información obtenida por nuestro medio, el hecho ocurrió en el yacimiento El Destino 2, ubicado a unos 8 kilómetros de Pico Truncado, minutos antes de las 02 de la madrugada del lunes. Sin embargo, el incidente fue descubierto por trabajadores de la empresa Brest recién cerca del mediodía del mismo lunes.
Cuando los operarios inspeccionaron el lugar, constataron que los ladrones habían seccionado y derribado 14 postes del tendido eléctrico para llevarse 13 tramos de cable de cobre de 50 milímetros. Con el robo, los delincuentes se hicieron de un total aproximado de 1.950 metros del material.
La denuncia fue radicada en la Comisaría Segunda de nuestra ciudad. Los efectivos de la dependencia, junto con el personal de la División Gabinete Criminalístico, realizaron las pericias correspondientes en el lugar. El Juzgado de Instrucción N°1 local abrió un expediente judicial para investigar el caso.
